JESTER COMEDY AND THE ORPHEUM THEATER TO HOST NEW FLAGSTAFF COMEDY FESTIVAL

Flagstaff, Ariz. – Longtime comedy promoter Jester Comedy and The Orpheum Theater are joining forces to bring comedy back to Flagstaff with an all new, city-wide comedy festival.

Jest Another Comedy Fest will be held Sept. 15 through 17, 2022 hosted at various venues across town, with the main event hosted at the historic Orpheum Theater in downtown Flagstaff.

“In the absence of the annual Big Pine Comedy Festival, there was a real desire from comics and fans to continue a comedy festival” Jester Comedy Founder and local comedian Jamie Anderson said. “We want to bring a new style and comedy vibe to Flagstaff that will focus on comedians networking and performing; while exploring our flagstaff community and businesses”.

Jester Comedy and the Orpheum Theater invite the community to submit applications to perform, sponsor stages, and volunteer for various festival positions.

“We are excited to add to some variety to Flagstaff’s already impressive festival line-up,” said Orpheum Theater General Manager Susan Walter. “We encourage comedians, local businesses, and others to get involved in our inaugural year.”

Jest Another Comedy Fest will be held Sept. 15 through 17, 2022 at The Orpheum Theater in downtown Flagstaff. For more information on comedian submissions please visit jestafest.com/submission-info.

About The Orpheum Theater

The Orpheum Theater in downtown Flagstaff is independently owned and operated, and is open year-round to host live music, film screenings and community events. Built in 1917, the Orpheum operated for much of the 20th Century as a movie theater, closing in the late 1990s as more modern theaters opened in town. The Orpheum was remodeled and reopened as a live music venue on New Year’s Eve 2002 by a group of local investors. The current Public Address system was also manufactured by Eastern Acoustic Works in the mid-1990s, purchased secondhand and installed at The Orpheum in 2006.
